First Mates is an organization open to all women of KHYC. They have been a key component of the club for the past 50 years, established when the club was new as a sort of women’s auxiliary. The First Mates support the entire club, provide services, and organize various fundraising activities for special projects, club needs, gifts, and charities. They assist in many club events such as Opening Day, holiday decorations, race events, and the boat parade. They meet officially on the first Wednesday of each month for a luncheon at noon and meet socially for other activities and excursions during the year. Many gather every Wednesday with a brown bag lunch and play dominoes or bridge. They also have an active tennis group. Please join us and add your talents to improving our club and having fun doing it!
