Cal 20 News: Fleet Measuring Day 2005

CAL 20 Fleet Members:
Next Saturday, March 26 2005, is the day for measuring your Cal 20.

I will be at the club ready to start at 8:00 AM. It is best to get the boats weighed
before the winds come up and make it difficult to read the weight accurately.

To help you prepare your boat, the following is a list of the required gear to have on board when weighed. Everything else must be removed.

Hull & Spars
Rudder & Tiller
Whisker Pole
Lifting Sling
Hatch & Berth board's
Running Rigging (Dry)
Life Preservers (2 or 3)
Throwable Type 4 life preserver
Flares (current date)
Bell, Whistle or Horn
Fire Extinguisher (only if a motor is carried)
Anchor (8 lb min)
10' of 3/16" chain (min)
100 ft of 3/8" line (min)

If you have sails that DO NOT have a Cal 20 class stamp at the tack I will measure your sails & stamp them. If they are already stamped all I need to  do is verify stamp.

Please be sure your boat is bailed out & completely dry (try to do this a few days in advance after this weeks predicted rains have gone!)

Remember... come early! I will stay as long as it takes but I won't be sitting around waiting :) (i.e. don't show up at noon wondering where I am  unless we have made prior arrangements).

See y'all Saturday!
